Alber Elbaz To Replace Karl Lagerfeld At Chanel?

By: Connie Wang

Tommy Ton's recent mysterious tweet about news that will "SHAKE the fashion world" has left most of us a little on-edge, and Grazia thinks that it knows what the big secret is. They report that there have been rumors that Karl Lagerfeld will soon retire from Chanel and Alber Elbaz has been chosen to replace him. The official announcement should be made in the next few days, so stay tuned for confirmation! (Grazia)

An update: According to Chanel, "Please note that Karl Lagerfeld is the Creative Designer of CHANEL and has a long-term contract with the company. Replacing him is not an issue." Tommy Ton followed up with a tweet, "Here's a clue: view the Style.com Paris videos and see if you can figure it out. Tehehehe :P"

Another update: It was all a prank! Riccardo Tisci punked Tommy into believing some fake rumor (revealed through Tommy's latest tweet). Now, how can we get those few minutes we spent thinking about all this back?
