While Valentine’s Day typically brings up the idea of flowers, candy, and stuffed bears (or not – thanks, Miley!), it's also a famed night for rom-coms. But, for those who just aren't that into rom-coms (see what we did there?), you can now catch a showing of RoboCop. Splash magazine’s Zak Stremer caught up with Aimee Garcia, who stars in the movie, and discovered that the actress is surprisingly disconnected for someone in a high-tech, sci-fi action flick.
“I’m a sucker for human connection,” admits Garcia. Forgoing the typical role of a self-promoting social media maven akin to her peers, Garcia relies on the romance of old-school communication. She prefers to call over text, sends letters over e-mails, and takes her time to wait for the right projects. “People are always like, ‘You’re so earthy!’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, that’s because I know what it’s like to have a job.” A girl after our own hearts.

“I feel like I know who I am and I know where I come from, and I think that’s a very powerful thing out here where people are constantly trying to become what’s popular or change who they are.” If that’s not life advice for the ages, we don’t know what is.
