Owner of Odessa Renia Salon, 9021 Melrose Avenue (near North Almont Drive); 310-358-0358.

Her mane objective:
To provide clients with the very best healthy hair care through excellent customer service and comprehensive knowledge.

If you have natural hair:
"Natural hair needs oils to help lock in moisture — make sure to apply in conjunction with a leave-in conditioner. Steam treatments are also great because curly hair is more porous and tends to be thirsty."

If you have pressed or straightened hair:
"Be sure to begin with clean hair and tools before pressing to avoid that burnt-hair smell. Also, be careful not to over apply product as this can weigh the hair down. Pressed hair should behave like relaxed hair."

If you have relaxed hair:
"Because most of the elasticity has been removed from relaxed hair, use caution when blow-drying. Concentrate on smoothing the roots, then lightly go through the ends. Excessive tension can weaken the hair shaft causing unnecessary breakage."
