Get One Last Christmas Fix With AFI’s Holiday Classic Marathon

WonderfulLife_afi[1]alise
By mid-afternoon on Christmas Day, even the jolliest among us might need a few hours out of the house (in case you need a break from family and all that holiday stress). Catching a movie is always a good bet, but how about we skip the big multiplex fare for something a little more seasonal — something that might just replenish your holiday spirit?
The AFI Silver Theatre has just the thing: an all-day Christmas Day marathon of everyone's favorite tearjerker, It's a Wonderful Life. Take the whole fam, your sweetie, or just yourself to enjoy the 1946 Frank Capra classic (and bring some Kleenex). If, on the other hand, you're just ready for the holidays to be over, the AFI will also be screening a second classic, The Apartment, and the new releases Hyde Park on Hudson and Anna Karenina on the 25th.
When: Tuesday, December 25, from 1:30-9:20 p.m.
Where: AFI Silver Theatre & Cultural Center, 8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring; 301-495-6700.
