Usually vintage shopping is a lot like playing hide and seek. You go from boutique to boutique searching for the coolest, weirdest, and most interesting items, and most of the time, the best pieces are doing their best to stay out of sight. Wouldn’t it just be so much more convenient and cost-savvy to have the best shops and dealers all come to you?
Dream becomes reality with A Current Affair, a pop-up vintage marketplace that brings together over 30 sellers for a weekend of premier vintage shopping. Priced from $30 to $3,000, the goods on display span decades, but are all sure to add that je ne sais quoi to any outfit. Hosted by photographer and filmmaker Jeana Sohn of Closet Visit, A Current Affair takes thrifting to the next level — boasting beats from KCRW DJ Marion Hodges and an open bar (cheers!).
Kick off the fun this Saturday at a cocktail party launch event (a wonderful alternative to drowning in a sea of green beer), and continue on with your fashion finds until Sunday. For those who have no choice but to miss out, A Current Affair launched its e-commerce site today. But if you're planning to go, just remember to get your ticket, stat. Destination: A vintage fashion wonderland.
