Ellen Schools Jimmy Fallon At Lip Sync Battle, Timberlake Joins For Another History Of Rap

The Stephen Merchant lip sync battle used to be our favorite (it did inspire an entire show, after all). But Ellen DeGeneres just gave the English comedian a run for his money on tonight's Tonight Show. Kicking things off on the fine-but-not-amazing end of the spectrum, Fallon performed The Killers' "Mr. Brightside" (although, without any marching, which is what we always feel inclined to do when that song comes on — deducted points for the missed opportunity), and Ellen did Diana Ross' "Do You Know Where You're Going To" (seated on the ground, surprisingly delightful and hilarious). But then, Fallon took on Silento's "Watch Me (Whip/ Nae Nae)" and every single dance move that goes along with it. And it was wonderful. Almost as good as these dance moves from his and JT's appearance at the U.S. Open yesterday. Winning moves. But not good enough, when Ellen closed the whole thing out with Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have My Money." Justin Timberlake judged, and you can guess the winner well ahead of his conclusion. But watch the whole 10 minute clip anyway, because it will either A) make you feel better about your insomnia, or B) kick your day off on a glee-filled note. Or, skip ahead to 5:40 for Fallon's moves, then 7:50 for Ellen's winning turn.

Oh, and Fallon and Timberlake came back together for round six of History of Rap. It's not the best one yet, but it's pretty damn great. The transition from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to R Kelly's "Ignition (Remix)" especially tugged at our heart nostalgia strings.
