It's officially the end of an era: After more than a decade, Giuliana Rancic will step down as a day-to-day anchor from E! News on August 10, 2015. The longtime host will continue her involvement with two other E! franchises, Fashion Police and Live From the Red Carpet, but will be shifting her primary focus to personal projects. In a statement released by NBCUniversal, Rancic said that she feels fortunate to have been involved in the growth and success of E! News since she arrived on the show in 2005, and that she will miss her daily news family. "At the same time," she explained, "I am excited to not only continue as host of two major franchises on E! but also executive produce the aspirational new show Rich in Faith for Oxygen, as well as take my wine and clothing lines to the next level. This is such a thrilling time for me, and I thank the gang at E! for understanding my desire to embark on this next chapter in my life.” Rancic came under fire earlier this spring after making comments construed as derogatory about Zendaya's dreadlocks on the red carpet. She inevitably issued an apology, but the fallout from audiences, media, and the celebrity community was severe, and may have contributed to both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin stepping down from Fashion Police. Refinery29 has reached out to NBCUniversal and Rancic's reps for more details about her departure. We will update this story as it progresses.
