You may remember Kim France from that time she founded a little glossy called Lucky Magazine. Or, maybe from her time ruling the pages of Sassy, Rolling Stone, & Spin. Now, the media tour de force & Girls of a Certain Age blogger is bringing her fashion, shopping, & pop culture prowess straight to Refinery29.
The most notable aspect of the '80s was how wildly it diverged from the '70s. If the '70s were all blue jeans and the Rolling Stones, the '80s were all black jeans and the Clash. If the '70s were crunchy earth tones and and organic, the 80s were plastic and fluorescent-bright and hair-moussed to the sky. The '70s were a mellow bong hit, the '80s, a bracing line of coke. It was a decade that saw huge changes in music and fashion, and in retrospect, looks costume-crazy. But, at the time, we thought it all was the coolest thing going.
