Meet #GIRLBOSS Sophia Amoruso & More This Week In S.F.

mainPHOTOGRAPHED BY JESSICA HAYE AND CLARK HSIAO.
How do you know if you're a #GIRLBOSS? You can make it to all of the week's glam events and still look stellar come Monday. Join brands like Elizabeth Street Cosmetics, Fresh, Rand + Statler, and Nasty Gal's Sophia Amoruso for some serious fun. Hop from one cool-kid event to another, and pick up some treats for yourself along the way. After all, you work hard — you deserve this.
Elizabeth Street Cosmetics Trunk Show
Have you upgraded your spring and summer beauty game yet? If the answer is no, peruse the Elizabeth Street Cosmetics selection at Tigerlily this Saturday night to find your perfect lip shade. Don't forget to peek the shop's range of delicious perfumes, and get some enviable nail art from mani-crazed Floss Gloss. You'll look super fly and stock your makeup bag all in one swoop.
When: Saturday, May 10, 4 to 7 p.m.
Where: Tigerlily, 973 Valencia Street (between 20th and 21st streets); 510-230-7975.
Invitation/Annual's Second-Issue Launch Party
If you've ever wondered where S.F.'s way-cool creatives hang out, just look to local publication Invitation/Annual. The quarterly mag will host a fete to celebrate its second issue, which explores the theme of transitions through various forms of media. Artists such as CODAME, Lauren YS, The Great Discontent, and Tina Roth Eisenberg of Swiss Miss will be featured, displaying everything from photography to poetry. Other local favorites such as Worthy, Tie Society, The Voyager Shop, Dish Boutique, and Tattly will also be there doing their thing.
When: Tuesday, May 13, 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Public Works, 161 Erie Street (between Mission Street and South Van Ness Avenue); 415-799-6757.
Tickets are free; please RSVP here by May 9.
Fresh & Freebies at Sephora
For us, our skin routine is practically a religion. That's why we're amped to see Fresh and its cofounder Lev Glazman on our turf showcasing another line of products that make us glow. At this event, get turned on to the Flower Power Skincare Ritual, which uses blooms like peony, rose, and lotus flowers. Attendees will also be treated to a deluxe-size Soy Face Cleanser while getting the scoop on some new goods.
When: Friday, May 9, 2 to 7 p.m.
Where: Sephora, 22 Powell Street (between Market and Ellis streets); 415-362-9360.
Nasty Gal CEO Sophia Amoruso Book Signing
Gather all your power-ladies-in-training, and get your copy of Sophia Amoruso's new book, #GIRLBOSS, signed because this gal knows a thing or two about building a multi-million-dollar company. Since she began her cult-following fashion brand Nasty Gal right here in The Bay, it's only appropriate that we pay the fashion goddess some major dues.
When: Friday, May 9, 7 p.m.
Where: Books Inc. Opera Plaza, 601 Van Ness Avenue (between Golden Gate Avenue and Turk Street); 415-776-1111.
Loren Stewart Jewelry at Rand + Statler
Loren Stewart brings the bling all the way from L.A. to The Bay — to Rand & Statler, to be more specific. Pick out one of the stunning pieces from the latest collection, which draws influence from pop culture and found objects. And, be sure to grab a glass of Champagne, a few macarons by Dana's Bakery, and flowers by Ashley Mueller. Baubles, bubbly, bakery, and blooms? Yeah, we're there.
When: Saturday, May 11, 1 to 5 p.m.
Where: Rand + Statler, 425 Hayes Street (between Gough Street and Octavia Boulevard); 415-634-0881.
