I try to give all of my favorite lipsticks the same amount of love and attention (they're like children!). But, if I'm being honest, there is a disproportionately large chunk of my heart devoted to my lippies from Bite Beauty. I don't know, maybe you've noticed — it's always me who jumps at the chance to test out their new products on camera, and their Cashmere Lip Creams are my go-tos for photo shoots. Well, lipstick lovers, today I get to be the super-excited editor who tells you that Bite just came out with a whole new line of lipsticks, and they're actually better than anything the brand has come out with so far.
Made with the wax of organic orange peels, the Matte Crème Lip Crayons come in an array of colors so stunningly vibrant, I almost want to eat them. (Fun fact: Bite Beauty's lipsticks are food-grade, so I could eat them if I really wanted to.). And, luckily for everyone who is currently embracing the orange-lip trend, myself included, this line contains not just one, but two orange-based shades: Clementine and Blood Orange.
In addition to being the prettiest matte colors ever, these guys are seriously long lasting. I'm wearing Clementine today and it survived our office's weekly Bagel Friday, or as I like to call it, "Bagel-Versus-Lipstick" Friday. I definitely can't say that about all of my lipsticks.
The brand also just released an Agave Lip Mask, which is like a night cream for your mouth. To loosely paraphrase Bite founder Susanne Langmuir, there is nothing worse than bright matte lipstick over dry, peeling lips. This lip treatment was created to prevent that situation from ever plaguing anyone again. It repairs and hydrates with the help of powerful ingredients like pharmaceutical-grade lanolin and jojoba oil, and is very effective. You can wear it during the day as well, but I love the idea of dealing with my chapped lips while I sleep.
