There's a pretty simple reason why we're fans of the art duo Craig & Karl: They create things that make us smile. Their use of color is playful, not juvenile. It's kooky — and pretty much in the best way possible. And, the new collaboration makes all that quirky charm as plain as the nose on your face. Literally.
Teaming with Le Specs, the pair of Craig Redman and Karl Maier have created a collection of statement sunnies in colors and shapes not typically used for glasses. The line employs polka dots, stripes, and leopard, clashed together or as-is. Plus, the frames take shapes that are both classic (the round, the Wayfarer) as well as unconventional (the sunny-side-up egg and the squiggly brow).
And, while artful, statement sunnies may have a reputation for costing a pretty penny, we're happy to say these specs all ring in under a Benjamin — priced at $89, to be exact — and will be available at Net-A-Porter, Fivestory New York, Creatures of Comfort, Colette, and Nordstrom this spring.
