We can remember a time in in elementary school when clip ons and ear cuffs were the "safe" bet for needle-shy proto-fashionistas. Years after going down to the mall to get our first piercing, though, ear cuffs are looking less "safe" and more stylish than ever. Whether clipped onto the side or dangled over the top, cuffs certainly look more daring than the ho-hum, through-the-lobe universal standard. A long-standing fashion staple in Rajastan and St. Marks place (though with drastically different styling, of course)—this season, Eastern variations, and futuristic takes by Alexander Wang and others are adding new heat to the clip ons. This fall, your iPhone earbuds might have to compete for space.
