Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
Who you…modest and understated? Not this week! Chatty Mercury moves into Capricorn from Tuesday until January 11 making you irrepressibly gregarious. You’ll definitely make Christmas celebrations more festive. Just be careful that they don’t turn into The Capricorn Show. Take it upon yourself to revive or uphold a family tradition this week. On Sunday, you’ll be back in an ambitious groove: Use the weekend to make strides on a passion project or personal mission.

Aquarius (January 20-February 19)
Rocking around the Christmas tree…or escaping to a tropical paradise? You’re not necessarily in people mode this week, so no one would blame you for slipping off once the last present is unwrapped (or sooner). If you do stay at home, your compassionate nature will be evoked. 'Tis better to give, but don’t turn into a psychic sponge, absorbing everyone’s emotions. Get out and play from Wednesday on, whether for a raucous round of sledding or a road trip to meet a friend in an unexplored city.
Pisces (February 20-March 20)
The more is definitely the merrier for you this week, Pisces, as a cluster of planets converge in Capricorn and your eleventh house of groups. There could be a motley crew assembled under your tree or joining you on the town for post-Christmas celebrations. You’re keen on exploring offbeat activities yourself or getting into an athletic groove. Take that meditation workshop or the snowboarding lesson before the weekend is through. This week, and until January 11, are prime time for developing a web venture or selling goods online.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Your renegade spirit takes a backseat this week as Mercury joins the Sun, Pluto, and Venus in your traditional tenth house. Rally relatives for some memorable moments, ones that pay homage to generations past. Or, get a new custom started, one that brings a modern twist to celebrations. You’ll be career focused now too, and ambitious ideas are flowing. Capture them on your computer or in the notebook you keep in your beach bag if you’re off on vacay. Christmas Day could bring a love life milestone — you’ll grow closer to the one you adore or finally bolt the door on a bad romance.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
More, more, more: That’s how you like it this week, Taurus, as Mercury joins the Sun, Pluto, and Venus in your expansive ninth house. Be careful not to bite off more than you can chew though or it could cut into your precious free time. The next three weeks are prime for travel, especially if there is an active or athletic component built in. Snowboarding, surfing, or stretching at a yoga retreat — anything that gets your body moving is good. On Christmas Day, be of service to an elderly person in your universe or put in a volunteer shift serving food at a shelter.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
'Tis the season to be spicy! On Tuesday, your cosmic ruler Mercury slinks into Capricorn and your scintillating eighth house. A relationship that’s been in the works could move into “permabonding” territory; single Gems could unearth a secret crush before the week is through. Develop closer connections with platonic pals, too. Who do you want in your inner circle in 2014? Extend an invitation. This person might even sit at your holiday table this Tuesday.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Who’s the Dasher to your Dancer? With Mercury joining the Sun, Venus, and Pluto in your relationship house from Tuesday until January 11, you’re ready to hitch your sleigh to a more permanent partner. Turn on that bright red searchlight! If you’re already coupled up, make a concerted effort to create together time. Sharing a project, be it a business idea, home renovation, or a New Year’s Eve party that you cohost, brings much-needed bonding opportunities. Remember: You get out what you put in, Cancer. Put a bookmark in the romancing on Christmas Day and give family top billing.
Leo (July 23-August 22)
Deck the halls with roasted Brussels sprouts, quinoa stuffing, and gluten-free pancakes. Mercury joins the planetary party of the Sun, Pluto, and Venus in Capricorn and your house of healthy living from Tuesday until January 11. By no means should you deprive yourself of a gingerbread man or three but fill your plate with vitamin-rich foods, too. You could be the first on the elliptical machines on Thursday. Return lame gifts and use the money to upgrade to a cooler fitness studio.
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
Operation Mistletoe is well underway this week, as flirty Mercury cruises through your romance sector from Tuesday until January 11. Shyness, begone! It’s your time to make the first move. You’re the glamorous life of the party so kick up your red-painted heels and indulge in the seasonal spirit. Caution: Midweek festivities could stretch your wallet thin. Don’t overspend; instead, use your resourceful mind to drum up affordable fun that all can enjoy. A text from an ex could disrupt your neatly ordered universe, too. Don’t let the holiday spirit give you a case of amnesia. Unless significant inner work has been done, this person probably doesn’t deserve a second chance.
Libra (September 23-October 22)
Snuggie couture is all the rage in Libraland this week, as Mercury nestles into Capricorn and your domestic fourth house. Rock the fleece with pride and give your inner circle priority over your 1,001 acquaintances. A thoughtfully written card will say more than any gift you give. Take time to compose a meaningful message. This could even pave the way for romance on Christmas Day. After the 25th, revamp your diet. Eggnog, spiced rum, and sugar cookie dough are not food groups, although you may have forgotten this.
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
Free yourself from the prison of that cocoon! With garrulous Mercury fluttering into Capricorn until January 11, you’re in social butterfly mode (as much as a Scorpio possibly can be). Venture out of your comfort zone and mingle with people from different scenes. A road trip — over the meadow and through the woods — adds the spice of variety to your season. Partnerships percolate, too, and someone you meet this week could become a creative collaborator in early 2014. Stay in your PJs on Christmas Day, though. A sleepy twelfth house moon gives you permission to retreat and recharge.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
Budget luxury is the spirit of your season, Sagittarius. On Tuesday, Mercury merges with the Sun, Venus, and Pluto in your financially savvy second house. Tighten that belt a bit and use a few days after the holiday to spruce up your résumé or business materials. Caution: If you’re too cooped up on Christmas Day, the claws could come out. Organize a field trip or head out solo to read a book (and flirt with an intriguing traveler) in a swanky hotel lounge. DIY decor will go over well. It’s amazing what you can do with birch bark, bundled branches, and pine cones, so get creative and you won’t have to break the bank.
