5 Fêtes To Kick Off Your Holiday Parties

Starbucks has rolled out the red cups, tinsel is littering our favorite department stores, so yes — the holiday season is now officially underway. This week, with five flings that include all of our favorite things (shopping, art, and bubbly), we strongly recommend you close that laptop, turn off your email alerts, and get your party dress pressed (Need something new? Read on!). There is only one way to survive this festive season, and that is to jump in with both feet, cocktail in hand.

Weston Wear Opening Party
Local designer Julienne Weston will have you jumping into party mode once you see her collection of frocks at the newly re-opened Weston Wear flagship store. From denim to jewelry, the store is newly stocked with gorgeous, special pieces, so come sip a Julie-tini cocktail and nibble on creme brûlée while sifting through the holiday collection. There will be discounts for all, and the first 20 guests will also receive a gift designed by Weston herself.
When: Wednesday, November 6, 5 to 8 p.m.
Where: Weston Wear, 569 Valencia Street (between 16th and 17th streets); 415-621-1480.

West Elm Store Opening
Where can you find yourself an Urban Remedy juice bar, an installation inspired by the redwood forests, and a whole slew of art and designs by local Bay Area talents? At the just-opened West Elm store in Mill Valley, surprisingly! The fête will take place Wednesday evening, where you may just run into some of your very favorite decor bloggers.
When: Wednesday, November 6, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: West Elm, 800 Redwood Highway Frontage Road (at Reed Boulevard); 415-388-1950.

Details & Herradura Tequila Party
Who doesn't love a good surprise, especially one that is tequila-infused? The good folks at Details (yes, the dapper gents publication) will be popping by to say hello and shake up your week, with their good partner-in-crime, Herradura Tequila. This is where the secret comes in: Until you RSVP to the party, the location will be kept under wraps. Twist number two comes when you arrive to the party, when you'll find out who the mysterious promised musical talent will be. What you are really there for, however, is the collection of art by local-based artists, DJ Neon Indian, and above all, having a grand ol' time until the wee hours of the morning.
When: Wednesday, November 6th, 8 p.m. to midnight.
Where: Location revealed upon RSVP.

Alyssa Nicole Trunk Show
We would assume that the most fun aspect about being a designer would be sharing your goods with adoring shoppers, or at least, Alyssa Nicole makes it look this way! The dressmaker — and total cutie — is spreading love from her current collection at FashionElles boutique. Along with complimentary fittings on special orders and one-on-one time with the creative herself, 20% off will be offered on everything in the store. Bubbly and cupcakes will also make a turn — sounds like a true girls night.
When: Saturday, November 9, 2 to 5 p.m.
Where: FashionElles, 2030 Chestnut Street (between Steiner and Fillmore streets); 415-673-1471.

Art.com Pop-Up

With Art.com swinging into town and opening up a pop-up shop in Union Square, you can indulge in its rotating event schedule from now until January. Future shows include Inspired By: Condé Nast, and Meet and Greet: Nigel Barker.
When: Monday, November 11, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Art.com Pop-Up, 117 Post Street (at Kearny Street); No phone.
