3 Great Dinner Spots, 3 Stunning Outfits To Match

There's one upside to fall's longer nights: more time to wine and dine at your favorite local outposts. (After all, it's dark when you leave work. What else are you gonna do?) And, for once, we're not complaining. We're more than happy to spend a few hours savoring some inspired entrees, delicious cocktails, and top-notch ambiance — especially when we have amazing outfits at the ready. Read on for the scoop on three worthy destinations, plus the sartorial guidance to get you out the door.

A homey meal at chef Fabio Trabocchi's classic Italian restaurant, Casa Luca, calls for a look that's equally comfy, cozy, and chic. The easiest way to achieve that trifecta? A graphic sweater, swingy floral skirt, and drop-dead gorgeous boots. A Kelly green satchel adds a welcome bolt of color, and keeps the outfit from veering into '90s music-video territory. All you need to do is settle in and enjoy a bowl of house-made pasta with a glass of vino. May we recommend some dessert, too?

One of the city's most breathtaking hotels, The St. Regis, reconfigured its dining situation earlier this year, swapping the earthy, all-natural Adour for Decanter, a wine-centric concept with Mediterranean overtones. Inspired by chef Sébastien Rondier's upbringing in France's Basque Country, the menu incorporates flavors from the Riviera to round out the experience. For your visit, take a cue from the lavish setting and focus on textures and jewel tones: an emerald lace sheath, wooly sapphire coat, and intricate, embellished clutch should do the trick.

Petworth Citizen is the brainchild of Room 11 owner Paul Ruppert, and is easily one of the most buzzed-about restaurants opening this fall. With the former chef of CityZen at the helm, you can expect a more elegant take on bar food, plus killer cocktails. The best part? An in-house library will feature author readings, book parties, and tomes you can borrow. All this calls for a cute-meets-quirky ensemble, so this is the time to break out your printed pants, add a color-block sweater, and tie it all together with a chambray shirt and booties. Bonus points if you can incorporate some statement frames.
