8 Spooky Sippers For An Adult Halloween Bash

While you can still don a costume on Halloween, going door to door in search of sweets may not be a good idea — unless, of course, you want to wind up in jail. Since candy is as accessible as the jar on the secretary's desk, the bloom is kind off the rose anyway. With that in mind, what better way to celebrate this animated holiday than with an adult beverage?
So, to help you have a little grown-up fun, we've rounded up eight recipes for spooky sippers that are guaranteed to dress up that ordinary vodka soda — if even for just one night. Trust, you're going to look for excuses to mix up these tasty treats long after October 31 has passed.

Jack Be Nimble: Roka Akor

Ingredients:
1.5 oz of Appleton reserve rum
.75 oz of Ramazzoti
.50 oz fresh lime juice .50 oz Ginger syrup
2 heaping teaspoons of pumpkin puree

Steps: 1. Shake all ingredients over ice and strain into a martini glass.

Hocus Pocus Punch: State & Lake

Ingredients:
1.5 oz Belvedere Bloody Mary
1.5 oz pomegranate juice
1.5 oz orange juice
Dash of Tabasco sauce
Orange slice cut in a half-moon shape.

Steps:
1. Pour orange juice into a highball glass.
2. Shake the rest of the ingredients and layer over the top of the orange juice.
3. Garnish with an orange slice.

Berry Scary: State & Lake

Ingredients:
1.5 oz Hennessy VS
.5 oz Cassis
.25 oz Crème de Cacao
1 oz apple juice
Grated cinnamon
Cinnamon stick

Steps:
1. Combine all of the ingredients (except the cinnamon stick) and shake with ice until chilled.
2. Strain into a rocks glass with one large ice cube.
3. Garnish with cinnamon stick.

Ingredients:
2 oz Belvedere Bloody Mary
2 oz Cloudy apple-cider
Squeeze of lemon

Steps:
1. Shake and pour all ingredients over cubed ice into a rocks glass.
2. Garnish with an apple slice.

Ingredients:
1.5 oz Hennessy VS
.75 oz fresh-lime juice
.5 oz agave nectar
.5 oz Crème de Cacao
½ tsp cayenne pepper (powder)
Lime wheel

Steps:
1. Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
2. Strain into a rocks glass over crushed ice.
3. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Ingredients:
1 cup olive brine
1 tsp squid ink (can be purchased at stores like Whole Foods or Plum Market)
3 oz Bombay Sapphire East Gin
Calabrian chili

Steps:
1. Mix olive brine and squid ink together. Add to a shaker.
2. Add Bombay Sapphire East gin and shake with ice until chilled.
3. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with the chili.

Ingredients:
1.5 oz Corzo Reposado tequila
3/4 oz Cointreau
1.5 oz pumpkin purée
Juice from 4 lime wedges

Steps:
1. Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.

1/2 oz Luxardo Apricot liquor
1/4 oz lemon juice
1/4 oz nutmeg syrup
Lake Front Pumpkin Lager beer
Green butternut squash (a piece for a garnish)

1. Shake all the ingredients with ice and strain into a stemmed glass.
2. Top with Lake Front Pumpkin Lager beer.
3. Garnish with a piece of green butternut squash.
