Tricking out Westminster’s Storey House to resemble a planetarium, she had models walk the runway clutching vast tote bags in shades ranging from mushroom through to orange, with tassels of gobstoppers. And obviously, the brand’s trademark sense of humour shone through in the shiny crisp wrapper- and matchbox-shaped clutches. But overall, the bags were sleek, elegant and modern enough for women of every age to covet.
The finale was, as we’ve come to expect from this It Brit Brand, sensational. Handbags gracefully came down from the ceiling and models ascended into the stars, holding their clutches like talismans. The scene elicited the first whoop we’ve heard all London Fashion Week. Very well deserved it was, too.
