Michael Kors kind of has this jet-setting lifestyle thing on lockdown. His tanned visage is practically synonymous with being whisked away via private helicopter to some remote-yet-glamorous international locale. So, when we heard the designer was launching his very own makeup line and corresponding new fragrances, our first thought was that obviously the visuals for the collection would whisk us away in a similar fashion.
Not so — we got the exclusive first look at the interactive ads the brand is launching on Facebook today, and while there is some escapism, it isn't off to a private beach. When you head to the Michael Kors Facebook page and click on the Sporty, Sexy, Glam tab you'll be given the choice to pick a persona: Sporty, Sexy, or Glam. As Kors told WWD when news of the makeup line broke, "I think those three things — sexy, sporty and glam — have always been the DNA of Michael Kors, and in a strange way, the Michael Kors woman really is all three of those things. It’s just that she feels more strongly about one of them at certain given times."
As such, each personality corresponds to one of the collections in Kors' beauty line. Click on the one that entices you most, and you'll be treated to a vignette that immerses you in Kors' world. There's gorgeous visuals, stunning models, amazing clothes (duh), and glimpses of the makeup collection and new fragrances.
The videos just went live, so head on over for a little mid-morning escapism. And, if you're looking for a little retail therapy to go with that, the collection did just launch at Macy's, so you can scoop up whatever catches your eye — which, be warned, was basically the whole collection in our cases.
