6 Hot Bay Area Events To Jam Out To This Week

It seems that this week is all about jewels, jam and, well, jamming out. Instead of that after-work gym visit you were planning, or that date you had with a frozen enchilada and your couch, we think it's time to get some serious perspective on what we call fun! A little hint: It knows no boundaries, and will take you from weeknight to weekend, downtown to out-of-town! Just let these five festivities rule your week, and take those party pants out for a spin.
Anaïse And Lotfi Pop-Up
We have to admit, we have acquired quite the lengthy Anaïse browsing habit. The dreamy e-tailer is a streamlined gateway to all of our coveted, hard-to-access brands and unique home finds — so you can imagine why we love spending oodles of time looking at the merch. So, when we got word we could covet the goodies IRL, we stopped what we were doing to get the scoop. Anaïse is teaming up with another local fave, Lofti, for a one-day-only pop-up at Campfire Gallery in the Mission. Mosey on by to score pieces by A Détacher, Apiece Apart, Dieppa Restrepo, Electric Feathers, Rachel Comey, and Vanessa Bruno Athé — while previewing the latest textile designs by Lotfi. Okay, we can’t imagine any other way to celebrate Saturday!
When: Saturday, August 3, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Campfire Gallery, 3344 24th Street (between Bartlett and Osage streets); 415-800-7319.
Esqueleto Anniversary Party
If you're a fan of trinkets galore, you have probably stumbled across the little luxe haven that is Esqueleto. Now you can wish the Oakland spot a happy two-year anniversary and get your fill of beautiful things on this First Friday. If the eye-catching gems aren't enough, the shop will also be opening a new art show that very night featuring photographer Chloe Aftel and her mesmerizing prints. Did we forget to mention that Esqueleto has kindly asked its favorite designers to create exclusive pieces for the celebration? Told you it would be a night you'll never forget!
When: Friday, August 2, 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Esqueleto, 482 A 49th Street (between Telegraph Avenue and Clarke Street), Oakland; 510-629-6216.
Elizabeth Street And Honey Cooler Lingerie Trunk Show
Being a girl is just too much fun, but, let's be real, it can also be a lot of dang work! To celebrate our best assets, and to make things a little bit easier on us, Elizabeth Street Cosmetics and Honey Cooler Lingerie are going to be cuddled up at SIGH for a one-stop shop! The wine-country venue will be providing its sparkling wine for purchase while you sift through juicy lip colors and take home some matching lacy intimates. Because, being a well-equipped temptress is just one of the hats that you should wear!
When: Saturday, August 3, 2 to 5 p.m.
Where: Champagne Room at SIGH, 29 East Napa Street, Suite C (between Broadway and 1st East Street), Sonoma; 707-996-2444.
HIPP and Kirk Launch
We kind of can't turn down a sweet brand, especially one created by brainiac babe Lauren Milroy that is inspired by beach living, yet is appropriate for every day. Familiarize yourself with HIPP and Kirk at its very own launch party hosted by Rare Device. The must-hit Divisadero shop will be throwing open its doors in the name of partying by pouring cocktails made with local wonder INNA Shrub. The goodness of these combinations just can't get any better, so be ready to buy a new tote, sip some shrub, and get happy!
When: Saturday, August 3, 2 to 7 p.m.
Where: Rare Device, 600 Divisadero Street (at Hayes Street); 415-863-3969.
Sounds Of Summer Lyft Musician Showcase
Are you partial to Lyft over Uber? We know you're not alone. Which is why the pink-mustached car-share company is hosting an event for riders to meet some of the folks behind the wheel and see them showcase their musical talents. Gather 'round to hear the sweet sounds of the Lyft drivers Ivan Martinetti, Genesis-Angela Fermin, Peter Chung, and Ian Boldon. We knew that they were holding out on us during those late-night rides while we embarrassingly belted our favorite Robin Thicke lyrics! Space is limited, so be sure to snag your space by RSVPing.
When: Thursday, August 1, 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Lyft Mission HQ, 3180 17th Street (between South Van Ness Avenue and Shotwell Street); 855-865-9553.
RSVP: Here!
Marin Country Mart Jam Demonstration
Just take a second to imagine waking up, popping a slice of Tartine bread in the toaster, and smothering it with hand-made jam from the confiture geniuses at Blue Chair Fruit Company. That is to say, if you don't end up just eating straight out of the jar first. So, you get that the jelly is renowned, but you may not know just what goes into its making. Saturday, zip across the bridge to Marin Country Mart to meet Rachel Saunders, founder of Blue Chair, and let her infiltrate your breakfast routine with her knowledge of preserves. The girl has created over a 100 original fruity combinations, and knows a thing or two about sustainable farming.
When: Saturday, August 3, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Where: Marin Country Mart, 2257 C Larkspur Landing Circle (between Old Quarry Road South and Lincoln Village Circle); 415-755-2440.
