Say the word Burberry to anyone, and two things immediately spring to mind: the house's iconic check pattern, and trench coats. But if we didn't know better, we'd think that Burberry Prorsum designer Christopher Bailey was trying to make us forget all about that classic, rainy-day-in-London look.
Incredibly luxe night-out wear is more Bailey's speed: sky-high, sculptural pumps in red silk; deep turquoise clutches; sexy, flare-hem pencil skirts — all done up in a decidedly royal palette (i.e., so much purple, Prince himself would be proud!).
Sure, trench coats are still in the house — but they now come in your choice of traditional khaki gabardine, or megawatt, royal-purple, metallic leather. These definitely ain't foxhunting clothes, folks — which is exactly why we love the new Burberry.
