We tend to think of our future vacations in terms of locale. A sandy beach, a colorful sunset, a leisure stroll along a lush green path, and no real concept of time. But for the debut of Chanel's resort '14 collection, we're building dreams of our great escape based on fashion first. Set in the East, the massive runway show took place at Singapore's Loewen Cluster on Dempsey Hill, and was filled with colors and silhouettes that invite thoughts of the most amazing getaway ever.

There were several themes that were evident across the resort-ready collection, including nautical white-and-blue patterns; wide, billowy pants paired with embellished jackets; and (blame it on the Met) a combination of punk and refinement throughout. And following in the lines of Chanel's other special runway accessories, we were most amused by the custom cricket bats with linked Cs that were carried down the catwalk — the ultimate playtime must-have for the woman who lives and breathes Chanel.

Ahead, see all the looks in the resort '14 collection that are luxe, lavish, and laid-back in the chicest way imaginable.

You’ve got to see it first to take the collection at face value, look at it again up close to catch what you missed, read the reviews to find all the Easter eggs, and then read
