You can't put it off any longer: It's time to pack up all your winter duds and seriously examine your spring wardrobe to be sure it's up to snuff. Thankfully, there's a swapping soiree on the horizon that'll give you the opportunity to exchange your chic castoffs for another style-savvy gal's discards. All you need are three current, ripe-for-swapping clothing items, handbags, or accessories, and a $20 pre-sale ticket ($25 at the door) to connect with swapping opportunities, fellow swappers, pop-up shops, drinks, and DJ tunes.
Presented by designer consignment-site SNOBSWAP and Dewdrop DC, the Swap in the City event will even have a runway show for your viewing pleasure, with the most covetable items modeled by CapFABB bloggers. The rules are simple: RSVP, grab a minimum of three designer-finds to swap, drop them off between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. next Thursday, and start swapping as early as 7:45 p.m. You can leave with as many items as you brought, and any leftover items will go to the Goodwill of Greater Washington. Want to feel even better about redeeming yourself for those shopping snafus? A portion of ticket proceeds will go to Becky’s Fund, a local non-profit dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence.
When: Thursday, May 9, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Where: 1776, 1133 15th Street NW; no phone. RSVP here.
