Get Out And About With These Stellar S.F. Events!

Sure, Mad Men and Game Of Thrones recently made their big TV comebacks, and yes, we’re guilty of epic catch-up marathons, but c’mon people, the weather is simply too splendid to spend waste yet another hour watching the boob tube!
Plus, if you missed out on all of the desert musical magic that was Coachella, no worries, because this is a great week to be local. Between a show-stopping performance by Grammy-award winning Janelle Monae to a hotly anticipated concert with The Lumineers, we’d say it’s sounding like the (pitch) perfect time to be in S.F.!
S.F. Symphony Spring Gala Kick-Off Party
Hold up, now we are all for the amazing San Francisco Symphony, but add a stunner like Janelle Monae to the equation, and you better believe we are all ears! To celebrate the awesomeness that will be S.F. Symphony’s 2013 Spring Gala, swing by Macy’s 3rd floor for an evening of Tout Sweet Patisserie nibbles, tunes by DJ Louie, and most importantly, a chance to win tickets to the coveted S.F. Symphony and Janelle Monae performance.
When: Tuesday, April 16, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Macy’s, Level 3, 170 O’Farrell Street (at Geary Street); 415-397-3333.

Bettye Muller Trunk Show At Crimson Mim
We are no strangers to Bettye Muller’s funky, vintage-inspired steppers, which is why when we got wind of the designer's trunk show in Palo Alto this week, we nearly squealed with excitement! The talented gal herself will be making an appearance at the soiree, so not only will you have a smorgasbord of Muller’s newest styles to ogle, but a chance to meet the one and only, as well! Another reason: You might win a pair of Muller’s must-have shoes.
When: Thursday, April 18, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., personal appearance from 2 to 6 p.m.
Where: Crimson Mim, 855 El Camino Real, Suite 35 (near Alma Street), Palo Alto; 650-323-2277.
Wildflower Craft Cocktail and Twilight Tour
What better way to celebrate spring than sipping handcrafted and wildflower-infused cocktails whilst touring the gardens of the S.F. Botanical Garden at twilight? Yeah, we thought so! So, slip on a sweater and head straight to the California Native Garden this Thursday for a dreamy stroll (led by Associate Curator David Kruse-Pickler), with plenty of time to stop 'n smell the flowers — and sip your botanical-inspired booze.
When: Thursday, April 18, 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: San Francisco Botanical Garden, 1260 9th Avenue (at Lincoln Way); 415-564-3239.
Tickets: $35 for non-members, $30 for members; Buy here!
The Lumineers At The Greek Theatre
Over the last year or so, the revivalist folk tunes of The Lumineers have sky-rocketed to crazy levels of fame, and you can hardly go a day without hearing one of their beats on the radio! Head to the gorgeous Greek Theatre in Berkeley this Friday to soak up all of the folksy rhythm before they head south to Coachella.
When: Friday, April 19, 7 p.m.
Where: The Greek Theatre, 2001 Gayley Road (at UC Berkeley), Berkeley; 877-686-5366.
Tickets: Here!
Forage S.F. And The Bold Italic’s 4.20 Meat Up
The folks at TBI are teaming up with Forage S.F. to celebrate the change of season with — among other foraged foods — sausages, and lots of ‘em! Because it will be 4.20, there will be four sausage types, with up to 20 different combination offerings, as well as plenty of yummy sides and drinks. And, because it wouldn’t truly be a party without a photo booth (us R29ers know a thing or two about those!), there will be one courtesy of Snapfiesta. Swingin’ tunes by S.F.’s 29th Street Swingtet and imaginative crafts by Workshop SF only add to the good times to be had.
When: Saturday, April 20, 7 to 11 p.m.
Where: 1417 15th Street (at Shotwell Street); No number.
Tickets: $35 to $50; Buy here!
