Les Voleurs 2012 Wine Futures & Barrel Party
We knew we'd be big fans of this (previously) underground wine club, Les Voleurs, once we translated its name (which is French for thieves), and we're liking it even more now that it's throwing a shindig and letting us get in on the wine thievery ourselves! Join in on the vino sampling at Les Voleurs’ urban winery this Saturday — fancy hors d’oeuvres and tunes courtesy of The Hot Club of S.F. included!
When: Saturday, April 13, 5 to 8 p.m.
Where: Les Voleurs, 53 Bluxome Street (between 4th and 5th streets); 415-290-3453.
Price: $25; RSVP here.
Hand Painting On Fabric Workshop
Whether you’re hunting for a unique festival-season look or want a special DIY gift idea for your bestie’s baby shower, head to Gravel & Gold this Sunday for an evening of hand painting! Bring along your crop top or onesie (talk about opposites!), or choose from the provided leggings or large scarves — courtesy of Gravel & Gold. You'll learn how to master these toxin-free fabric paints so you can create all kinds of funky wares for the summer ahead!
When: Sunday, April 14, 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Gravel & Gold, 3266 21st Street (at Lexington Street); 415-552-0112.
Price: $35; RSVP here.
Exploratorium Gala After Party
We’re just going to say it: You’re never too old for the Exploratorium! So, with that said, the folks behind the always-entertaining learning space are throwing a fabulous after-party to celebrate the new Pier 15 digs. A night of creative and complimentary cocktails, a stocked dessert bar, and surprise performers who happen to be fresh out of SXSW? Yeah, we’re in!
When: Friday, April 12, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Where: Exploratorium, Pier 15 (at the Embarcadero); 415-528-4424.
Price: $200 general admission, $150 for members; RSVP here.
Polly Wales Trunk Show
We love a good trunk show — who doesn’t? This week’s sartorial display of choice features the British bauble designer and all around babe Polly Wales’ sparklers at local jewelry shop Love & Luxe. You had us as baubles, but throw in some sips and nibbles and this has the makings of a perfect Friday night!
When: Friday, April 12, 5 to 7 p.m.
Where: Love & Luxe, 1169 Valencia Street (between 22nd and 23rd streets); 415-648-7781.
