When we look for the latest beauty news, products, and trends, our gaze invariably heads eastward. That's because the Asian markets always seem to be first on the draw on so many cool new things. (BB creams, anyone?) Apparently Chanel has had its eye cast in the same direction, because its latest limited-edition collection is a celebration of the cultural crossroads that is Hong Kong.
In celebration of the recent opening of a boutique at Hysan Place, its largest outpost in the country, the brand has released a three-piece collection inspired by "the skyscraper-filled capital [that] dazzles with light." Featuring an eye palette and two polishes, the collection uses shades of white and brown, with a universal golden hue uniting the two extremes — a nod to Hong Kong's reputation as a modern city where East meets West. Consider us dazzled.
Chanel Ombres Matelassées in Pearl RIver, Le Vernis in Western Light and Eastern Light; $30-$80; available at Chanel.
