main Even with all the spring buzz in the air, hump day is still feeling pretty darn rough, right? Perk up, because great things are popping off in S.F. this week and we're about to drop some hot-happening knowledge on you! Whether you fancy yourself a jelly-shakin' lady (read on) or a music-festival maven, this week is full of events to get excited about now.

Geographer And Calivintage At Gap
Yes, we are as excited to get weird in Austin as you are, but not before this SXSW kick-off concert at Gap's flagship store. If the live performance by S.F. band Geographer isn’t enough to get you psyched for festival season, you can count on local vintage vixen, Erin Hagstrom of Calivintage, to get you planning your own bohemian get-ups in no time.
When: Thursday, March 7, 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Gap, 890 Market Street (at Powell Street); 415-788-5909.

Spring Closet Cleanse Party
Like we ever need an excuse to RSVP to a shopping event, but one in the name of spring cleaning? By all means — sign us (and our closets) up! Stroll over to Fillmore & 5th this Saturday and swoop in on the newly minted 50% consignment rate. With gratis mimosas and light nibbles on hand, we can't think of a better way to wile away the hours.
When: Saturday, March 9, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Fillmore & 5th, 1775 Union Street (at Octavia Street); 415-814-3776.

Interview With Dandelion Chocolate
Calling all chocolate aficionados, this is a love letter to you and yours. Have you noticed the infiltration of small-batch chocolates in this city? (Not that we're complaining, of course!) By the looks — and multiple taste tests — of Dandelion’s decadent bars, these guys are doing everything right! So, join the chocolate brigade this Thursday for a chance to meet the makers and ask all of your burning cacao Q’s, like, Can one actually die of a chocolate OD...?
When: Thursday, March 7, 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: Makeshift Society, 235 Gough Street (between Fell and Oak streets); 415-625-3220.
Price: $8; Buy tickets here!

Marmalade-Makin’ Workshop
Here's your chance to stir up your AM routine and take your toast to a whole new level — with dee-lish homemade marmalade. Have you ever looked longingly at those adorable Emmy’s jam jars at Bi-Rite, thinking how much better white bread would taste with just the right sweet boost? Your prayers are answered, because the cool kids behind Emmy’s are hosting a how-to class this Sunday, and everyone walks away with their very own jar of goodness. This event is, quite literally, the jam.
When: Sunday, March 10, 5 to 7 p.m.
Where: Gravel & Gold, 3266 21st Street (between Valencia and Bartlett streets); 415-552-0112.
Price: $50

“A Little Piece of the Bay” Art Opening
Colorado-based painter Joseph Martinez is back in the Bay, and we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome him — and his gorgeous multimedia work — back to his home away from home. Lucky for us, Martinez has put together a locally inspired body of work, utilizing matchbooks as his medium of choice. We can’t wait to head over to the Public Barber Salon this Thursday to "strike up" the conversation!
When: Thursday, March 7, 8 to 11 p.m.
Where: Public Barber Salon, 571 Geary Street (at Shannon Street); 415-441-8599.
