The 5 Facials That Could Change Your Life

Yay! It’s payday. Finally. How will you celebrate? Sure, you'll start out by sorting out your bills and putting a little money away for a rainy day, being the fiscally responsible type that you are. But after that, perhaps it's time to indulge in a truly rewarding way.
We're talking about booking a facial that knocks as many years off as it does dead skin cells — metaphorically speaking of course. Allow us to introduce you the local spas and treatments that make a real difference. We know: priceless.

Clarins Tri-Active Facial
French skin-care brand Clarins is known for its heavenly smelling plant-extract treatment oils and indulgent skin-care regimens. All of this knowledge is poured into its Tri-Active facial treatment, which is tailored specifically to address the issues that your skin is experiencing at that moment. There are 15 ClarinsPro products available to use and at least eight will be used in the therapy. After a consultation with the therapist, you facial will involve three stages: preparation, personalization, and reinforcement. What this means is that skin is exfoliated, massaged, and supplement treatments are applied, followed by further tinctures and creams to reinforce the good that has been done during the experience.

Crème de la Mer The Facial
Want to shine bright like a diamond? This Crème de la Mer facial may be just the thing you need. It begins with a deep cleansing treatment that uses sea quartz and pure diamond dust (yes, you read that right). These ingredients conspire to leave skin feeling alabaster-smooth and ready for the brand’s signature Miracle Broth treatment. We'll go so far as to say that this facial is life-changing. Why not see for yourself, though?

Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Facial
Tucked away behind Regent Street is an oasis of calm: the Elemis Day Spa. As soon as you step into the welcoming reception area of squashy sofas and mood lighting, you can feel yourself mentally and physically unclench. Their Pro-Collagen Quartz facial offers a similar effect. The anti-aging facial is the perfect mix of pampering and performance. It claims to reduce the number of wrinkles by up to 94% and improve skin firmness by up to 57% after just one treatment. Impressive stats, but what sticks in our memory is the uplifting massage — all head, feet, and shoulders of it. The Pro-Collagen range is used throughout the procedure, leaving skin feeling baby-soft and plump to the touch.

Vaishaly Signature Facial
If you are looking for your mind, body, and soul to be treated as well as getting a bit of a skin lift, the Vaishaly signature facial is for you. This therapy is billed as the ultimate non-invasive anti-aging treatment and was devised by super-facialist Vaishaly. What sets her therapies apart from the rest is the massage. She is known for her “magic hands” and we totally get it. Once skin has been deep-cleaned, exfoliated (using micro-dermabrasion), and rid of blemishes, the massage is performed to help improve skin elasticity and reduce puffiness. The experience is deeply relaxing yet intense at the same time. Whew.

Liz Earle Signature Facial
If you like a treatment with deep cleansing, the Liz Earle Signature facial is for you. First up, the heated treatment bed and million-tog duvet are treats in themselves. We’d be quite happy to have a disco nap there anytime. The cleansing, exfoliation, steaming, and manual extraction (not too ouch-inducing — promise) are thorough and relaxing at the same time. The neck-and-shoulder massage is divine, and the slightly odd-looking anti-bacterial wand helps to blitz blemishes (though it did make our fillings hum). Our skin felt plump and squeaky-clean afterward, so can bet we'll be going back for more.
