We always love it when something retro makes a comeback, but it's a whole new ball game when we see a piece that has consistently stayed cool for not 20, not 30, but 60 years. Enter, the Gucci horsebit loafer: The shoe is the definition of classic, and this week’s anniversary celebration shows us how to turn 60 in style (move over, Grandma!).
Gucci is unveiling a global campaign that will transform the house’s store windows (and the Facebook page) into a popping-pink horsebit loafer fiesta. The brand released an adorably mesmerizing video showing off some super-fancy footwork with the same pink backdrop. In Florence, an exhibit for the shoe will open at the Gucci Museo, narrating its key moments and evolution from 1953 to today, including black-and-white photos of our favorite celebs in the infamous loafers. Madonna at the MTV Video Music Awards? Brad Pitt in Fight Club? Jodie Foster skateboarding in them? Wouldn’t be a proper 60th without them all. Thanks to Gucci, we'll be dancing our way straight to its store.
