Hungry for some local gossip? Turns out S.F. chefs are totally the popular kids this week — so many announcements about future openings, moves, and pop-ups! That, along with the latest from SFMOMA and Tim Lincecum are in our roundup of must-read happenings in S.F.
No word yet on the official name of Daniel Patterson's "fun" and "casual" new eatery in the former Iron Wok spot on Market, but with Plum, Plum Bar, and Haven already under his belt, we have no doubt the chef's next culinary endeavor will be TwitPic worthy (it's mere minutes from Twitter's new HQ, after all!). Looks like Magnolia's roots are about to grow! The gastropub and brewery has called Upper Haight home for over 15 years, but because of the sudden increase in popularity it's expanding to historic Dogpatch. SFMOMA has just published an updated press release detailing all of the museum's monster changes. Set to reopen in 2016, we can't wait for the large-scale vertical garden, 15,000 square-feet for art-filled, free-access public space, and the versatile, double-height "white box," which will host live art performances, film screenings, and special events. Chris Kronner's status at Bruno's has just changed from pop up to permanent — sort of. Since things are going so well at his current outpost, he plans on staying there indefinitely. Works well for us, since we already have all the deets plugged into Google Maps! (Grub Street SF)
Breaking news: Tim Lincecum has chopped off his luscious locks! One of the most recognizable manes in sports is no more, and we're totally ok with it. R.I.P. really long hair, we won't miss you too much. (SFist)
