Here at R29, we love (and always look for) the unexpected — a quirky pattern, a pop of wild color, a clever detail. So, when our very own photo intern, Kate Hoffman, made a winter-proof outfit with a pretty spring dress, we sat up and paid attention. She layered a breezy, printed frock from Anthropologie with a Theory sweater and a Free People leather jacket for maximum warmth, and topped it off with Steve Madden booties, a necklace from Charm Georgetown, and a cheerful Kate Spade tote. The mix of a spring-y silhouette and winter texture is a definite "do," and we love how the muted palette makes her statement bag stand out even more — plus, we'd kill for an effortless side braid like hers. What do you think: Are you inspired to break out some warm-weather pieces and layer up?
