"Simple" clothing is a tricky thing to master. Not plain, not dumbed-down, but true-to-life clean simplicity — when done correctly — takes months of crafting the perfect silhouette, mastering the perfect blend of fabric, and styling the perfect ensemble. And, one year after coming back from Tod's, Derek Lam has done just that.
For his fall '13 collection, Lam sent 27 deceptively "simple" looks down the runway, all of which packed a punch by way of wearable attitude. The line boasted capes that anyone could pull off, the most luxuriously white gowns with hoods, and tailored pants that work beyond office hours.
We're also digging the deep lip and crimped hair that kept the more-than-neutral, less-than-loud vibe going from head to toe.
