Florals for spring may be trite, but when all things summery become your primary inspiration for the autumn season, that's something different
. For his fall '13 line, Thakoon punctuated his collection of typical fall fare — black separates, leopard-print coats, belted fur shawls — with florals, pastels, and other elements more common to spring.
Some references were delightfully explicit, with dragonfly decals, prints of blown-apart dandelions, and a dainty Swiss-dot lace taking the stuffiness out of tweeds, furs, and neoprenes (the loads of eye glitter and youthful stepped bangs didn't hurt either). After a weekend of slush, snow, and salt-stained shoes, a bit of summertime optimism was much appreciated.
