This Old Thing? Oh, It's Just The Largest Oscar De La Renta Store, Ever

Good things come to those who wait, and considering it took Oscar de la Renta five years to find the right location for his first London store, we Brits have certainly waited. Luckily, our patience has been rewarded with not just a spacious 3,000-square-foot Mount Street flagship, but also the distinction of housing the largest de la Renta store in the world (whoop!).

Located at 130 Mount Street, where its neighbours include the likes of Nicholas Kirkwood, Lanvin, and Christian Louboutin, the London space marks the designer's 14th store worldwide and its third in Europe (Athens and Madrid beat us to the punch).
The just-opened three-story boutique boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and plaster palm trees and is the first de la Renta store to contain separate departments for bridal, home, and childrenswear; daywear, fragrances, jewelry, footwear, handbags, and formalwear are also featured.
And who knows? With all this room, there might even be space to house John Galliano, who de la Renta has taken under his wing of late.
We'll have to get our gloating in quick, mind; once construction is completed on the designer's Madison Avenue boutique next month, NYC will just slightly edge out London to be the largest store. Always a bridesmaid....
