Ooh, this one hurts, guys. For the past few seasons, we've come to consider Acne's runway shows to be a staple of our London Fashion Week diet. Now comes word that creative director Jonny Johansson will be showing his fall '13 collection not in our fair city, but instead, in Paris. The cheek!
Apparently the Swedish label is looking to reach out to its French fan base by staging its next catwalk show in Paris, where it has two stores compared to London's one.
That means we Brits will have to hop on the Eurostar to see the fall wares in the flesh. The upcoming collection will highlight Johansson's collaboration with photographer Katerina Jebb and the Musée Galliera, with collages of scanned pieces from the museum's archives being worked into the womenswear range as well as a men's capsule line.
According to an Acne spokeswoman, the scheduling switch-up doesn't necessarily mean the label is through with London Fashion Week. To which, we breathe a collective sigh of relief. If you thought the Hundred Years' War was messy, just wait to see how cranky and territorial we get when biker jackets and killer denim are on the line. (WWD)
