Ellie Goulding, The XX, & More Shows To Catch This Week

Untitled-1
Christopher Owens (from Girls), Melted Toys: Bowery Ballroom, January 21 and 22, $20
Christopher Owens' first solo album, Lysandre, is as delicate and personal as you'd expect from the ex-Girls lead singer. While his puppy-eyed delivery may not have changed, don't expect to hear "Hellhole Ratrace" again anytime soon.
Monday and Tuesday, January 21 and 22, 8 p.m. Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey Street (between Bowery and Chrystie Street); 212-533-2111.

If you're feeling more like dancing than moping, check out British singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding tonight and tomorrow. The genre-chameleon will be playing two huge shows at Terminal 5 spanning all her hits from "Lights" to "Halcyon." Update: Both shows are sold out, so you may want to resort to StubHub or Craigslist.

Chelsea Wolfe, King Dude, Starred: Music Hall of Williamsburg, January 26 and 27, $15
This weekend at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, black is the new black with a stacked lineup of goth-y folk. The bill includes L.A. songwriter Chelsea Wolfe, Seattle doom folk artist King Dude, and the shoegaze-y, ethereal duo Starred. All acts come highly recommended.
Saturday and Sunday, March 26 and 27, 8 p.m., Music Hall of Williamsburg, 66 North 6th Street (between Kent and Wythe avenues); Brooklyn; 718-486-5400.
