Is Tom Ford Going To Make This The Best Fashion Week, Ever?

lfw
Truth be told, those of us back in Blighty would have happily settled for L'Wren Scott's impending arrival on the LFW schedule. But, with news that the fall '13 shows will mark the return of Welshman Julien Macdonald and — deep breath — Tom Ford's first official catwalk show, well, it's easy to say that our cups runneth over.
According to the provisional catwalk schedule just released by the British Fashion Council, Ford's runway show will take place on Monday, 18 February at 7 p.m., culminating in a mad post-GILES dash. Though Ford is no newbie to the LFW calendar, this will be his first public catwalk affair, following a string of strictly managed, highly intimate presentations. Even so, expect the guest list to be tight.
Running from Friday 15 to Tuesday 19 February, the fall '13 season will also usher in a collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, who has designed the creative imagery for LFW. Naturally, shoes are involved.
So, just to recap: Blahniks as far as the eye can see, the arrival of L'Wren Scott, the return of Julien Macdonald, a Tom Ford show that isn't top-secret, and our beloved London locals (Burberry Prorsum, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, etc.) to boot. Go us.
