Alice Temperley has brought her brand of Notting Hill boho-luxe to chi-chi Mayfair courtesy of her new flagship on Bruton Street, which flung open its doors this weekend. All three Temperley collections are housed in the converted Georgian townhouse: Temperley London, Alice by Temperley and Temperley Bridal. There’s also a "by appointment" private shopping salon for VIP customers, which is accessed via a James Bond-style top-secret elevator. That’ll be for K-Mid and P-Mid then.
And what of the store design? The 2,500-square foot space is suitably decadent and sympathetic to the Regency era, so expect plenty of antiques (handpicked by Alice herself) including vintage chandeliers, gold mirrors and a sprinkling of taxidermy butterfly domes. We loved the six-foot '70s bronze palm-tree lamp, and now firmly believe that no self-respecting fashion store should be without one.
Feel like taking a trip to the World of Temperley? It’s closer than you think. In fact it’s here:
