Party On! This Weekend's Most Stellar Fête Lineup

main
Sure, the Giants parade may be swept away without a trace of having ever existed, but that doesn’t mean S.F. has lost all its fun this week. And to those more sartorially minded, this roundup of weekend parties will feel like the grand slam of itineraries. From boutique opening parties to an ultra-rare trunk show, we think we hit this definitive list of shindigs out of the park. Take a look at the fashion extravaganzas below (some of which are going down tonight!) for proof that this city has more going for it than just our kickass baseball team.

Mill Mercantile Opening Reception
Unionmade’s sister store Mill Mercantile may have had its doors open for a couple of months now, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to throw an all-out bash for the still fairly new shop. The Noe Valley spot that’s loaded with over 60 brands will be popping bottles of champagne and serving up plates of tasty nibbles for an awesome opening reception. And, yes, we will be there double-fisting — shopping bags that is!
When: Thursday, November 2, 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Mill Mercantile, 3751 24th Street (at Folsom Street); 415-401-8920.
MAAS & Stacks Holiday Party
Once November rolls around, it’s pretty much a given to start breaking out the tinsel-clad gowns for the requisite holiday parties. And officially kicking off the seasonal soirées is Castro shop MAAS & Stacks. At this party, there’s plenty more to be cheery about than just the upcoming festivities, like say a stellar women's pop-up hosted by L.A.-based blogger Lulu Chang. Swing by to see the goods by Patrik Ervell, Common Projects, and The Fashion Club while sipping overflowing flutes, and bobbing up and down to jams.
When: Saturday, November 3, 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: MAAS & Stacks, 2128 Market Street (near Church Street); 415-678-5629.
San Francisco Art Institute Shindigs
As die-hard lovers of this city, we’re all for supporting our local schools — especially when parties are involved! The San Francisco Art Institute is throwing a double dose of soirées this weekend that we’re more than hyped to attend. First, the Return to SFAI party will be chock-full of rockin’ libations from The Bon Vivants, decadent bites whipped up by various renowned chefs, and a killer live set of upbeat tunes. Then, fall down the rabbit hole into winter wonderland early at the art school’s winter festival — featuring film screenings, live performances, and interactive activities. Talk about twice as nice!
When: Return to SFAI: Saturday, November 3, 5 to 10 p.m., Winter Festival: Sunday, November 4, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: San Francisco Art Institute, 800 Chestnut Street (at Jones Street); 415-771-7020.
Cost: Return to SFAI: $40; Buy here!
Rolo Bash and Sale
Is there a better way to jumpstart the weekend than with a killer sale? Highly unlikely, we think! Luckily, the idea isn’t a figment of our imaginations as SoMa shop Rolo is throwing a bash for the line Insight and dishing out the label's wares for 25% off this Friday! And for the fashion and musically inclined, check out the live set of jams by Grown Kids Radio, and then guzzle downs some brewskies once you’ve made a dent in the awesome selection of duds.
When: Friday, November 2, 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Rolo, 1301 Howard Street (at 9th Street); 415-578-7139.
