Dr. Martens X Pendleton Party
We’re convinced that the only way a brand could possibly get any cooler, is when it collabs with an equally fly fashion label. Well, folks, it’s finally happened! Punk-tastic shoe brand Dr. Martens has an exclusive collection of new kicks cobbled with the rustic feel that only Pendleton can provide. Naturally, we want to step into the beauts pronto, and we’ll get our chance this Friday. Our very own Dr. Martens shop is hosting a shindig that doesn’t just include the kicks, but is also dishing out free booze and bumpin’ tunage. And if you thought attending an event this poppin’ couldn’t make you any luckier, keep in mind one attendee could win a free pair of the heritage-inspired boots. Talk about a boot-y call!
When: Friday, October 19, 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Dr. Martens, 1621 Haight Street (between Clayton and Belvedere streets); 415-503-3278.
Asterisk Pop-Up Shops
When it comes to pop-up shops, we can’t help but think one is never enough. And Asterisk magazine seems to have the same idea, as they’ve invited not one but four different crazy-cool merchants to its office space this weekend! There, we get to scour Lofti’s hand-stitched garb to create a truly S.F.-made wardrobe. And to spruce up our space, Anaïse will come stocked with its ceramic kitchenwares and mod décor. Looking for stationary that can also serve as wall art? Then shop illustrator Chris Koehler’s eye-catching letterpress. And finally, we get to ogle a stellar textile installation at the space crafted by Line Sander Johansen. With a lineup like this, Asterisk isn’t about to pop-up as much as it’s about to blow up. Stoked as much as us? Get the deets below!
When: Saturday, October 20, and Sunday, October 21, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Asterisk, 3156 24th Street (at Shotwell Street); 415-839-9707.
Fiat Lux Lookbook Release Retrospective
Who says you have to wait 'till the new year to celebrate all the awesomeness of 2012? Certainly not Castro shop Fiat Lux. In fact, the boutique full of locally made wonders is hosting a bash to highlight the most stylish getups from its various lookbooks throughout the year. And between its fall accessories and music-inspired style snaps, there’s plenty of local garb to fawn over. And it gets better: The shop’s selections of one-of-a-kind wares are up for grabs at an eye-popping 50% off! So, if Fiat Lux knows how to party as well as they stock rad merch, then this féte is destined to be a roaring good time.
When: Friday, October 19, 6 to 10 p.m.
Where: Fiat Lux, 218 Church Street (at Market Street); 415-312-8413.
