Hourglass
Started by Carissa Janes in 2004, Hourglass was her answer to the need for a modern, luxury cosmetics brand that embraced skincare technology. Well, it worked, and since then Hourglass has moved on to be one of the biggest independent lines in the world (and a favorite here!).

"I didn’t want to compromise anything in terms of the formulations, the ingredients, or the packaging," says Janes. "It also had to look stylish on my bathroom counter.”

Why We Heart It: Our love for Hourglass is no secret at this point. Since the brand started we've been following its every move. We're huge fans of their Mineral Primer — then again, who isn't? — as well as the new Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipsticks.
