As NYC residents we have the pleasure of enjoying many a pop-up shop — but have you ever thought about what goes on behind-the-scenes? Turns out, putting together the space is no easy feat, and now United Colors of Benetton has the time-lapse video to prove it. For the making of their just-opened pop-up shop, titled The Art of Knit, they pulled together tons of man power, 12 straight days of work, eight artists in residence, and more iced coffee runs than humanly possible.
The store is open now at the corner of Crosby and Houston streets, and features a mix of artwork, crafts, and Benetton's classic knits. Check out the video below to see the team in action (and gain a newfound appreciation for your desk job!), and stop by the temp retail space to see their hard work in person. And, be warned: After watching, you just might need a few iced coffees yourself.
