Gunmetal

Yes, gray is a fall color. No surprise there. But this season, it’s not only trending metallic, but it’s showing just a touch of olive as well — gunmetal. Charlotte Ronson dipped in her toe with a gray-and-black sweater (which needs to be in our closet right now), while Emporio Armani took a softer approach with a velvet ensemble, and DVF shot for the moon with a shining, metallic gown. Gray, maybe. But definitely not drab.

Now, if you hadn’t noticed, gray nails are becoming so popular that even the First Lady is rocking them — at the Democratic National convention, she shined in a gorgeous blue-gray. For a different take on this trend, snap up OPI’s dark, but tempered “Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!”
