Violet

As bad and bold as it wants to be, you can never put violet in the corner. This season, it turned up the brightness and straight-up attacked the audience at DKNY and Honor. In a more tempered and complex Edun dress, it shone as the lead singer in a multicolored band. Wherever it was, violet was extraordinarily vivid this season.

Now, there’s nothing more glamorous and edgy than 10 violet nails — but you have to be careful. Sometimes a flat polish in this shade can come off as young and poppy, instead of bold and sexy. The shimmer in OPI’s “Suzi & The 7 Düsseldorfs,” however, should separate you from the under-18 crowd.
