MTV’s Making The Video may be a thing of the past now, but Miu Miu's bringing back that same voyeuristic, how'd-they-do-that effect with a new docu-style film. Their recent, "It’s Getting Late — Making of the Video,” accompanies the fourth installment of Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales series.
The previous installment, “It’s Getting Late,” followed four brilliant women shifting stylishly from hard days at work to a night on the town. The new behind-the-scenes clip accompanying it is not only visually stunning but also incredibly inspiring, featuring interviews with director Massy Tadjedin and the star-studded cast (Rinko Kikuchi, Patricia Clarkson, Aubrey Plaza, and singer Zola Jesus, to note). Massy explains that in picking her cast she “liked the fact that they all seem different. They each have a different sensibility, a different look, a different rhythm. It’s nice to see in a fashion film women being, you know, women”.
To give you a taste, the fabulous and ever-so-classy Clarkson muses, “Women are most feminine when what is always present is their confidence, their intelligence... Of course it’s strength, but it’s also their vulnerability [that] I think is beautiful...to me that is what is incredibly potent about a woman.”
Right on, Patricia! Check out the video below and fall head over (your Miu Miu) heels with the fashion, the music, and the words of wisdom.
