A Shiny New Wardrobe For Your Nails

This article was originally published on September 14, 2012. It has been updated to include new launches and brands we're excited for.
After checking out all the new fall polishes and picking our favorite trends, we dutifully headed to the stores and stocked up on our favorite shades (teal!), thinking we had our tips covered for the season. But then, a few of our fave brands went ahead and launched their latest collections and they are, of course, stunning. Looks like we need to open up our wallets yet again.... fall-nail-trends-RGB
RGB Cosmetics
Launching later this month, RGB's 3-piece collection features a cobalt blue and a glimmering copper we're loving. But the shade we can't get out of our heads is the gorgeous, gold-flecked gunmetal — a sparkling stunner that turns the concept of neutral polish on its head. Trust us when we tell you this chameleon hue will go with everything in your wardrobe.

Le Métier de Beauté
By all accounts, we should be bored to tears by brown —it's a non-color that lacks any glitz or glam. And yet, looking at this collection of cocoa hues from Le Métier de Beauté, we're obsessed. There's just something about a creamy chocolate nail that is just so unabashedly posh. Move over nude; there's a new neutral in town.

Julep
Another rising star in the nail world, Julep has teamed up with designer Trina Turk to release a nine-shade collection for fall. Featuring a mix of basic shades like cream, red, navy, and black, alongside bolder hues like yellow and green, the colors are all inspired by Turk's fall '12 collection. This marks the first time the brand has teamed up with a designer, and we truly hope it's not the last because these colors are gorgeous. We've got our eye on Hoch, a bright and vivacious jade green.

Sephora by OPI
We've always thought it was pretty genius that Sephora by OPI released mini sets of their cult classic polishes. Especially considering sometimes (okay, most of the time), we can't even get through a whole full-size bottle before it goes bad. So, imagine how excited we were for their 4-piece Spice Market collection for fall? Containing a metallic orange-red, a deep rose shimmer, a silver glitter and a duochrome gold, the collection has us in serious pumpkin season mode.

Duality Cosmetics Nail-Pak
When Duality first launched, we were immediately in awe. Why hadn't we thought of a nail polish with remover and nail file built right in? The added bonus was that we actually liked the colors. Named after Hollywood's leading ladies, each color in their new 6-piece fall collection is as swoon-worthy as its namesake. We can't wait to sport Dakota (of the Fanning clan, obvs), a glittery mauve kaleidoscope of awesome.

The New Black
Another collaboration we're loving on right now: The New Black polishes are staples in our nail wardrobe, and this fall they hit it out of the park with The Digital Underground collections. Teaming up with nail artist Christina Rinaldi, the collection offers this fall's top colors in 3 different collections. Our favorite is Noble Spirits, a collection of deep, metallic jewel tones and bright accent polishes.

MAC
When MAC announced it would be launching a limited edition Marilyn Monroe collection, we nearly lost it. Then we heard they would re-launch Kid Orange nail polish within the 5-piece polish collection — and we lost it all over again. See, Kid Orange – a bright, orange-red – was our go-to color when it first launched with MAC years ago. We've been holding on to one lonely bottle ever since it was discontinued. Lucky for us it's back, along with four other iconic colors (a deep wine, a dark berry, a true red, and a glittery gold).

Rescue Beauty
While we heart Rescue Beauty's amazing polishes, we don't love that everyone else is also in love with it — it's a major bummer to go to the site for a re-stock of our tried and true lacquers, only to find they're sold out. Fortunately, founder Ji Baek is almost psychically in tune with her devoted polish fiends, so she makes sure to bring back some of the most requested shades from time to time. The most recent polishes to make it back from the beauty beyond are Grunge, a not quite gray, not quite purple blend that practically reeks of off-duty model; Moulin Rouge, an ox blood hue that's totally on trend for the season; and Coral, a creamy, bright (but not garish) reddish-orange. Welcome back, beautiful.

Nails Inc. newest collection features all the cool colors of the season — navy, hunter green, pearl, taupe, plum, and red — in one handy and affordable package. Bonus: the mini nail lacquers are super-cute and won't take up too much room in your already overflowing polish bin.

Sephora by OPI
Sephora's really knocking it out of the park on the nails front, huh? In its second appearance on our list of fall nail must-haves, the mega-retailer busts out some bling for your digits and we're so stoked to see it. Why should jewelry be limited to your accessories? Available in an array of colors and shimmers — 21 to be exact — there's a sparkle to fit your every outfit whim. We bet we'll be seeing an awful lot of these come holiday party season.
Sephora by OPI Jewelry Top Coat in I Found A Pot Of Gold!, Sparkle Me Silver, and Don't Be Eggnogious, $9.50 each, available at Sephora.
