How To Rock White Denim Well Past Labor Day

AdvertisementWe're guessing most of you don't pay any heed to that old rule against wearing white past the summer months (we're even willing to bet that the majority of you Millennials didn't even know it existed). Out there on those autumn streets, we see white jackets, white shirts, white sweaters, and more. But, even with all that, come fall, we still don't see a lot of white jeans. What's up with that?
We've decided that this is the fall where we convince you to rock white below the waist. Why? Because they look plain-ol' awesome paired with fall's dark, earthy colors, jewel tones, and just about anything else. To start you off strong, GUESS gave us access to its chic fall collection, so we could cook up three easy looks perfect for any autumn occasion. Take our hands and slip on that white denim — we've got your back.
So, why exactly does the above look work? Well, for starters, those deep, jewel-toned reds and blues sync up nicely above the waist, and that white denim doesn't fight with them — but that's not the key. To work such a killer pair of GUESS white-denim leggings into an outfit, you need some white up top to anchor them, and patterns are your best bet. Don't limit yourself to the polkadots above, though. Houndstooth, checks, or simple stripes work just as well. Oh, and a nice neutral accessory — like that clutch — should keep your denim from getting overpowered by all that color.
