You can blame the instant obsession we all had with "greige" back in late 2009 and early 2010 to this understated hue. After it debuted on the runways, everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow to Lily Allen (remember her?) was seen wearing a variation of the shade on their tips. Not quite taupe, yet not really grey either, it's the perfect in-between hue for when you want to wear a neutral, but you don't want your nails to look ho-hum.
