This Week: DJ Ardent for 305 Fitness
Until Beyoncé can perform at our next workout, we’ll have to settle for a DJ — which isn’t that bad of a deal. One studio known for its sweaty, sexy dance-cardio classes and booty-shaking playlists is 305 Fitness. The workouts feel like a Saturday night out with friends — you know, the kind that ends at 4 a.m. with a diner breakfast. Plus, the studio's music perfectly backs up its nightclub vibes; there's a roster of six DJs who spin live during class. “As an instructor, I can't fake those moments when the bass drops, and a new song comes on that I didn't expect,” says founder Sadie Kurzban.
One of Kurzban's go-to tracks is “Sissy That Walk” by RuPaul. “It’s perfect for conquering the world," she explains. "I love hearing this song in class, and also listening to it with my buds on when I roam the streets of New York. I'm all like, ‘Bitches, get outta my way.’”
