Step 3 — Next, you'll want to make a vertical column in the center of your notebook. To do this, use the ruler to find the center point at the top of the notebook. Then, make a mark one inch to the left and to the right of that point. Repeat on the bottom of the notebook, and join the left and right points together to create a vertical column.
