Little Ow The Venuel
For a more family friendly daytime activity, head over to Little Owl for face painting, caramel apples, and an all-day screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show
. It's got all the Halloween weekend favorites, minus that smelly bumpy hayride.

; 93 Greenwich Avenue (between Bank and West 12th streets); 212-741-4695.
: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Edi & the Wolf
Beloved tavern Edi & the Wolf has concocted a special cocktail called Wolf's Blood (not to be confused with Tiger's Blood) that you can sip down the whole night. It's made of Grüner veltliner, elderflower, lingonberry, lime and a splash of Austrian champagne (sounds more like a magic potion) and you can score a free one if you howl like a freakin' wolf, which, with those flavors, sounds seriously worth the five-second embarrassment.
: Edi & the Wolf
; 102 Avenue C (at 7th Street); 212-598-1040
: 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Craftbar's Case of the Monday's
Brains don't just get eaten on Halloween, they get put to work. Craftbar is bringing back its "Case of the Monday's" trivia night especially for All Hallow's Eve. It's all
about the holiday and its horror with a sampling menu of "brain food" from chef Lauren Hirschberg and a selection of wine and beer to cool down any overheated heads. Foodies, zombies, and braniacs—unite!
; 900 Broadway (between 19th and 20th streets); 212-461-4300.
: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
David Barton Gym
Thinking about avoiding Halloween all together because you don't want to pack on any unwanted candy weight? David Barton has created a class specifically for you! Head over to David Barton Gym to schedule a FREE, aptly named "RIP'd class" to prevent any post-party pounds hidden underneath that costume.
: David Barton Gym
; 30 East 85th Street (between Madison and 5th avenues); 212-517-7577.
: 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Lyon After Party
Candy (or liquor) isn't everyone’s treat of choice for Halloween and if you’re looking for an after-parade dining destination, Lyon's Masquerade Bash might be the place to scarf down some party platters. With a "Haunted Fairy Tales" theme (perfect for those of us now Once Upon A Time obsessed) it features a gourmet menu and a soundtrack of '90s pop (umm, yes please!).
; 118 Greenwich Avenue (at Jane Street); 212-242-5966.
: 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Lost In Purgatory
Chelsea Room, known for it's outlandish and outrageous party atmosphere, is hosting "Lost in Purgatory," an event with a one-hour open bar, and at just $10
, we're sure you can hit on the bartender enough to let you forget about how ridiculous you look in your $60 costume from Ricky's.
: Chelsea Room
; 222 West 23rd Street (between 7th and 8th avenues); 212-243-3700.
: 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Jewelry shopping is our version of trick-or-treating so we're psyched to find a Halloween event centered around just that. VeraMeat, one of our local favorites, is hosting a Halloween Costume Party and sale. Not in New York? If you enter the code: RED (maybe missing the RUM?) into their website, you get a festive 31% off.
, 315 East 9th Street (between 1st and 2nd avenues); 917-353-3885.
: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
DJ Pauly D at Pacha
This is just too good. Too! Good! DJ Pauly D is going to be sitting a-top the "Attack of the Zombie Guidettes" themed Pacha float in the Halloween parade, and with his fist-pumping beats blasting all night both on the float and then back at the club, it's sure to be a blow-out success (in more ways then one).
, 618 West 46th Street (between 11th and 12th avenues); 212-209-7500.
